Facebook Moderator 

DSDN is seeking additional members of our support team. This is a volunteer position responsible for moderating one (or more) of our DSDN Facebook pages. Our support team is the lifeline of our mission to inform, connect, and support new families with a Down syndrome diagnosis. We know that each parent's journey is different, and our moderators are the front line to meet them where they are.


Moderators are required to complete a 30-minute training before starting, engage and monitor their group(s) daily with their partner moderators, and actively participate in quarterly meetings. The time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours per week. We ask that you plan to stay in the moderator role for 2 years.

Duties include:​

  • Sharing posts and other resources to facilitate and generate member conversations

  • Ensuring posting guidelines are followed

  • Tracking member needs to connect them with appropriate support
  • Reviewing and processing requests to join the group within 48 hours
  • Partnering closely with your partner moderators, lead moderator, and Director of Online Support to create a cohesive team that provides outstanding support to parents​​
