The DSDN App - Community Guidelines

The focus of every DSDN group is connecting and supporting parents of children with Down syndrome. In keeping with our focus, we have a core set of guidelines for everyone to follow. These guidelines make our online communities a place everyone can enjoy.

Posts and comments made by members are their own opinions and experiences, not DSDN’s. We do not verify information shared by those posting or commenting. The comments, opinions, and statements made by individuals in our groups do not necessarily reflect the views, policies, or practices of Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN) and are the responsibility of those individuals who created the information.

Protect your personal information. Although our groups are private and we take measures to keep membership to parents and legal guardians of children with Down syndrome, we can’t guarantee that every member is who they say they are. Don’t share personal information that can be used to harm you or someone else.

Be courteous. Healthy disagreements are natural but kindness and respect are always required. Always post and comment with the intent to support.

Stay on topic. Your comments should be relevant to the area or topic where they are placed. The posting of spam, promotions, fundraisers, political posts or soliciting money or other items of value is not allowed.

Keep it safe and private. Do not post links to sites that contain viruses or malicious software. Do not post anything that violates the laws of your country, state, province, or city. Do not post about other people with their name or social media handle attached. Do not share posts, comments, or information from a post or comment without the permission of the person who posted it. Sharing another member's content without their permission from any DSDN group may result in removal.

Do not consider anything shared in DSDN groups to be medical advice. While asking for input on medical situations is allowed, the parental experiences shared in DSDN are NOT medical advice. When responding to these types of posts, use "in my experience" to share instead of giving instructions or medical advice.

Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN) reserves the right to delete any comment or ban any user, with or without notice, at any time and for any reason, including, without limitation, our judgment that the user has violated these community guidelines. We reserve the right to modify or change these guidelines without notice.
